Fashion for a Cause: New Yorkers For Children & Fashion For Relief

Last September 16, 2008, the New Yorkers For Children organization celebrated their 9th Annual Fall Gala. The event benefits the over 17,000 children living in foster care in the city. To support this cause, celebrities flooded the event in hope to raised more funds compared to last year’s Gala with over $1.95 million.

In lieu of the London Fashion Week, Naomi Campbell organized a charity fashion show called Fashion For Relief. It aims to raise money for The White Ribbon Alliance. The White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood is an international coalition of individuals and organizations formed to promote increased public awareness of the need to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for all women and newborns in the developing, as well as, developed countries. The show attracted many celebrities and they walked on the runway in aid of charity.

Hey, I would like to introduce with LightningFast.com .

LightningFast.com was born in the year 2006 with a mission to ‘Create Cool, organic and fairly traded clothes as the means of transforming the conscientious purchasing needs of consumers into real help to children in the World’s poorest yet ambitious communities’.

Half of theprofits make communities whole – It’s not just the fact that 50% of the profits are channelled into community development for the most needy. It is also the fact that they have long term, direct relationships with the communities themselves.
